Toy Drive

The holiday season can be financially challenging for some in our community. Some families are barely getting by and can’t afford to provide Christmas gifts for their children. Pelham Strong is committed to ensuring our community’s children have toys to open on Christmas morning.

Since 2022, a Toy Drive has been held in conjunction with A Pelham Hometown Christmas. Pelham Strong partners with the Shelby County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #41 and Riverchase Church of Christ to make this effort possible. Families and students who need assistance are referred to us by school teachers/counselors across Shelby County.

Initially, in 2022, the effort focused on students only in the Pelham City School system. However, in 2023, with the partnership of the FOP Lodge and Riverchase, the initiative expanded to all school systems within Shelby County. In 2024, the Riverchase Church of Christ began providing meals to all the families referred by the school systems, and this effort continues today. Lives are being changed in Shelby County because of so many giving hearts.

In addition to helping Shelby County students, we also provide hundreds of items to the Children’s of Alabama CHIPS (Children’s Hospital Intervention and Prevention Services) program, Oak Mountain Missions Ministries, SafeHouse of Shelby County, and Shelby County DHR.
